In less that 2 weeks time, one of the worlds finest tattoo conventions takes place, right here in jolly old Blightey. This will be my third year attending the Brighton Tattoo Convention, and my first time getting work done there. I am super super excited about this show, the artist list is better than it’s ever been, and the new venue at Hilton Metropole Hotel looks incredible (and HUGE!).
Have a look on the website for details about what artists are in attendance and what Woody has planned to keep us all entertained. You can buy advance tickets (which will get you in an hour early) from Ginger Tickets here, they are£20 for either day, or £35 for the weekend.
I’ll be down on the Saturday, and as I’m getting tattooed first thing, I’m likely to be seen limping around with a big grin on my face. So if you see an awkward skinny guy with a curly moustache milling about be sure to come say hello! I’ve put a picture of me below for those of you that don’t know me (I’ve since grown my chin fluff back you’ll be pleased to know).
Just in case you forgot, the Brighton Tattoo Convention is this weekend, with it’s doors opening at 12 noon to those without the foresight to have booked tickets.
I know we posted about this last week, but the awesomeness of this convention cannot be overstated. This is one of the biggest and most anticipated conventions in the world, with artists from the 4 corners of the globe all under one roof, each one creating a little piece of awesomeness for their customers to take away with them. There is of course loads more going on throughout the weekend, be sure to peruse the website to see what’s in store.
The Modern Violent Gentlemen shall be descending upon Brighton tomorrow, and I hope they’re ready, because things could get rowdy.
Brighton is one of the most well respected tattoo conventions in the world, and as such has got an unbelivable line up of artists attending this year. Add to that entertainment, seminars, art galleries and plenty of cool art and clothing stalls to browse, you have yourself an amazing weekend. It is on next weekend, the 28th and 29th of January, doors open at midday for those who haven’t bought tickets in advance, and entrance costs £20 for a day or £35 for both. I can’t emphasise enough how much of a bargain this is, just check out the artist list and see for yourself.
Me and Twizzyboy both went last year and had a fantastic time. You’re bound to discover some talented artists you’ve never heard of before, and of course there will be many artists tattooing on a first come first serve basis, so if you’re looking to get some work done turn up nice and early.
We will be attending on the Sunday, and going to the after party at the Concorde 2, which is free entry if you have an event wristband. If you’re going too then drop us a line and join us for a drink!
The fabulous Gakkin will be in the UK for the Brighton Convention in January, can’t wait to see what he produces there. The example below is probably one of my favourite tattoos ever, I’d love a tengu back piece.
